I had to this blog some space given the election this past week...there was a lot that was said, a lot left unsaid, and just generally a lot of things to process. While myself and the rest of America is soaking it all in, know that this is the democratic process at work. The right to choose our elected officials is something that is guaranteed to us by the Constitution...for that I am grateful. The fact that November 10 I was able to wake up, go to school, and go to work without consequence or fear is something I can take solace in. There is still a long way to go...but we have the opportunity to start again.
As a white middle-aged cishet male, I'm no more at risk now than I was before the election. Can't say the same for my family members who are not straight, or my friends who have higher melanin content in their skin.
ReplyDeleteI believe Americans can deal with it, especially with this attitude. Most importantly, Donald Trump needs to be grateful. As long as he really understands how he gets here and how it feels like as a commoner, he is able to establish policies that are truly benefit for Americans.

ReplyDeleteTrump has never been a commoner.
What will you do differently if you decide that Trump is not grateful?
