"If you mourn as loudly now, you leave yourself no margin for proper affection when the time comes"
- Mary Chestnut "A Diary From Dixie" (1865)
It's going to get worse before it gets better folks. Whether it is the FBI reopening its investigation investigation into Clinton's emails or Trump telling voters to commit a federal offense by voting twice, this election season is certainly one for the history books.
As a voter I feel so out of touch and disenfranchised by both candidates; news outlets and popular media are quick to observe how self-serving the presidential nominees are and how they have no interest in helping the greater public. Clinton, despite her best efforts to appear otherwise, has long been bought out by Wall Street financial groups such as Goldman Sachs. Her so-called "philanthropic" projects (like the Clinton Foundation which I have mentioned previously) consistently fall short and only serve to strengthen her credentials politically as a viable presidential candidate.
Trump, the misogynistic, arrogant, name-dropping, Republican blow-hard has already done enough damage to himself without me lamenting it on this blog. The other day I went to get a haircut and my stylist, painfully attempting short conversation, says "I don't see what's so bad about that Trump fellow". Needless to say I will no longer go to that particular Hair Cuttery anytime in the near future.
So as prospective voters, we certainly have the right to bitch about our candidates. But guess what? One of the two will become our next president, so I don't know what ya'll are going to do, but I'm going to save my whining and complaining for January when the American public inaugurates one of these clowns into office.
It is crazy to think that one of these candidates will be the next leader of our country. I personally know who I am voting for but there are so many people are are saying that they hate both Trump and Clinton and they wont vote because they don't want either of them, but like you said one of them will be inaugurated in January so as Americans we really should do our duty and vote, and just like you save our bitching for then.
ReplyDeleteThis election is about choosing a nut or a liar. Obviously, the nut wins. To discuss these two characters from the outcome of the election, Americans seem to be more likely to believe this nut who may bring changes for this country.
ReplyDeleteActually, politicians are neither credential nor trustworthy. It might be wrong in the past but it is right nowadays. Most importantly, it applies to politicians all over the world.
