So far is has been two full days since the
future president of the free nation was elected, and we are still alive. The
2016 election came to surprise many Americans when businessman Donald Trump
became the 45th president of the United States of America. By most
people he was not projected to be elected president, but yet when 3am rolled
around on November 9, the nation found out. People had projected that if Trump
was elected that basically the nation itself with break lose in chaos or even
worse the world would turn on us. But yet it’s November 10, and we are still
standing. The conclusion, people have decided to give Donald a chance, even if
it is slim.
Even though Clinton won the popular vote
by almost 300,000 casts, it was Trump who won the votes in the Electoral
College. Trump
ended up with 279 electoral votes over Hilary Clinton’s 228 count which
elected him as the next American president. A good amount of the American populous
was not pleased, where expected riots and protests took place following the
commencement of the election. Those who were in opposition threw out the terms
such as “Not
our President” or “Dump
Trump” to voice that Trump cannot president. Well believe it or not, he is
our leader and will be for the next four years.
Of course the results upset the Democratic
Party but it is two days later and he is still our president, we have no choice
but to accept it. Current president Obama spoke on the aftermath by saying: “We
have to remember that we're actually all on one team…We’re not Democrats first,
we're not Republicans first, we are Americans first. We're patriots first. We
all want what’s best for this country." He is trying to establish that
even though the outcome was not right for some, we need to put that aside and
put the health of our nation before us.
We need to give Trump the best chance we
can. In the end we don’t how the next four years will turn out, could make our
nation better or worse. But like every presidency we must weigh out what is
truly the problem at hand, our nation.

ReplyDeleteIt's hard to tell. Provisional ballots are not examined unless there is a recount.
